Since December 11, 2018, “NBTC” has signed an MOU of academic cooperation with “Chulalongkorn University” to set up a 5G test center to support the modern telecommunication services. The center will be an open platform for related technology research, experiment of actual use, testing, and personnel development to support the expansion of the industry. The signing of such cooperation will cover exchanges of knowledge and experiences between personnel of both parties to develop 5G technology knowledge through workshops, seminars and other activities. Pilot services will be developed from the operation of the test center and these services will be presented to the public.
From the signing of such cooperation Chulalongkorn University has played a role in setting up a 5G test center to prepare for the next generation of telecommunications services. Pilot services will be developed from the operation of the test center and those services will be presented to the public. Placed as an open platform for experiment, testing, and technology research in the 5G era along with personnel development to support the expansion of the industry, the center is committed to research and development to meet the needs of society, leading to being a smart city of the university (Smart University). The integration of the center with various sectors of society will lead to the use of 5G technology to benefit further.
